- Age and Occupation?
22 years old and I work as a contract representative at a defense contractor.
- How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I started in the summer of 2012 so 2 and a half years, but it still seems like yesterday that I was learning how kip.
- Why do you CrossFit?
Initially it was so that I could look like Rich Froning. After I realized that wasn’t going to happen, I was already hooked on that sense of achievement you get when you improve, whether it’s shaving a second of a workout or a 10 or on a lift. So I’d say that’s why I do it now.
- What is your favorite movement?
I have to go with the classic clean in all the varieties.
- What is your least favorite movement?
There are a few in the running for this. I cringe whenever I see wall balls or handstand push-ups programmed. However, the winner is rope climbs. They hurt, I hate heights and they’re hard.
- Do you follow a particular diet to fuel your training? Favorite foods?
While I do not follow any strict diet (mainly due to the lack of self control), I try to limit my sugar and eat plenty of vegetables and get enough protein.
- What are your short term goals?
Get better at hand stand push ups.
- What are your long term goals?
I just want to keep getting better, stay healthy and now I want to get as ripped as Dan Bailey.
- What is your biggest achievement at CFB?
I would say getting 175 for my 1 rep overhead squat. One of my early goals was to get good at this movement because I was so bad at it! I see this progress as a direct result hard work along with the encouragement of the CFB family
